At Chez Tintin et Milou it is our belief that children learn best and most naturally through play. It is our goal to plan experiences and activities that are derived from individual and group needs and interests. By getting the children’s input into planning and observing them during play we can achieve this goal, giving them valuable learning opportunities.
Children are provided with a variety of different toys, activities, and games on daily basis. They enjoy songs and stories in both French and English, as well as group and individual games and activities. Each day includes time where children can choose freely among the different areas of the centre. A group time, with stories, songs, group discussions or show and share is also a part of each day. At circle time children take turns listening to others and speaking when it is their turn.
Our program puts an emphasis on developing social skills among the children. These skills include problem solving and expressing thoughts and feelings to others. Educators encourage the children to work through different social situations with their peers and offer assistance when needed.

Nous reconnaissons l'individualité de chaque enfant et respectons les différences qui existent dans les rythmes d'apprentissage. Les enfants apprennent à respecter les lieux et matériaux utilisés lors des activités réalisées au cours de l'année. Le français est présenté aux enfants d'une manière positive et enrichissante selon leurs besoins, leurs aptitudes et leur compréhension de la langue française. Nous mettons tout en oeuvre pour que l'enfant développe un sentiment d'appartenance à la langue et à la culture française.
Nous croyons que les enfants de cet âge assimilent très rapidement. C'est pourquoi nous les exposons à divers types d'activités. Tantôt structurées, tantôt libres, elles visent l'apprentissage en français de notions académiques. Notre programmation est suffisamment flexible pour répondre aux besoins de chacun.
